Autumn/Winter Programme - September to April

The Group meets at Fairfield Old School 7pm to 9pm every second Monday, Sep-Apr.

There is an interesting and varied programme of demonstrations by visiting guest artists alternating with club-nights and workshops where members can exchange ideas and hone their skills. Refreshments are provided. There is free parking at the school.

Summer Programme - May to September

A programme of outdoor (en plein air) sketching/painting runs from May to September where we meet up at different venues around the district to sketch or paint in company. The venues are carefully selected to provide a variety of subjects – buildings, landscaped gardens and broad landscape views included– and the subjects often feed back into people’s paintings in later exhibitions.

Exhibitions/Prizes

We generally hold two exhibitions each year at venues that include Tatton Park and another venue in Warrington. Last year we also exhibited at Grappehhall Heys Walled Gardens. Any Member can enter original work and/or prints for sale at the exhibitions.

Our annual Trophy Exhibition is at Tatton Park and runs for a week at the end of August attracting over 2000 visitors over the two weeks of the exhibition. Typically we show around 70 paintings and drawings contributed by around 30 members. There are prizes for Best in Show and public vote.

We are on the lookout for new exhibiting opportunities and venues
